Scorpion Hires Product Manager

Motorcycle Industry News

Noting that he is fortunate to have his passion become his profession, industry veteran Michael MacGregor has signed on as the Product Manager for Scorpion Sports, Inc.

In his new role, the avid street and off-road rider will handle product development for both helmets and ExoWear apparel, not to mention running the racer support and PR/marketing functions.

Jon Eide (National Sales Manager) says: “We are really looking forward to working with Michael to expand the Scorpion brand.

“Having spent the past 11 years with Helmet House where he had a hands-on role with product design, sourcing, product development and marketing for their proprietary and distributed brands, Michael really knows all aspects of brand building. But more importantly, he rides, so he understands our customers!”

Michael MacGregor says: “I caught motorcycle fever in the sixth grade when I moved from the city out to the country in Agoura Hills.”

Starting with a neighbor’s Z-50, he progressed through a series of bikes, including a Gemini 80, XR-75, YZ-80, CR-125 and a CR-250 by the time he went to Arizona State University, where he majored in marketing. “Today, my main machines are an ’08 YZF-R1 for the street and an ’04 DR-Z400 with electric start because I’m old,” he jokes, neglecting to mention several vintage gems parked in his garage as well.

During the past decade, MacGregor has developed and brought a number of products to market, including technical street and off-road riding apparel, footwear, casual wear and licensed apparel. However his skills extend beyond the realm of riding gear as he also co-invented a unique luggage mounting system with a patent pending and a number of display and point of purchase fixtures.

Michael MacGregor says: “It is an exciting time to be brought into ‘The Nest’ and I am so pleased to be part of the team. The strength of the Scorpion brand is amazing and the potential for growth is almost unlimited!”
