Leader of American Honda’s Team Honda HRC, Trey Canard is dedicated to winning on the AMA Supercross and Motocross tracks – but he’s also dedicated to making life better for children suffering from brain tumors.

Canard has now taken the position of the national motorcycle industry spokesperson on behalf of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids program. American Honda has been supporting Ride for Kids since 1991.

The team’s race shop in Torrance, Calif., allowed Canard and company to film a very touching Ride for Kids PSA with 11-year-old brain tumor survivor Dylan Linnehan. “I’m excited about this opportunity, and I’m excited about the future for these kids,” Canard said.

The Oklahoma native, 25, has raced Honda motocross motorcycles since he turned pro at age 16 in 2008. He then joined the Honda factory team in 2011. Canard has six-career victories in the 450 class, and has enjoyed the best season of his career thus far in 2015.

“Trey is the perfect spokesperson for Ride for Kids because he has a huge heart,” said Mary O. Ratcliffe, vice president of marketing and communications for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. “He exemplifies the best of motorcycling, just like Ride for Kids. On behalf of the 28,000 boys and girls in the U.S. who are diagnosed with a brain tumor, we salute Trey and American Honda for being a part of our mission to cure the kids.”

Charities such as these are all too important. Ride for Kids is a national series of motorcycle charity events put on to raise awareness and funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the world’s largest non-profit funder of research into one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer. Offering free educational resourches and college scholarships, PBTF is dedicated to helping children grow. With more than 28,000 children and teens in the US suffering from various brain tumors, now is the time to act. American Honda is the presenting sponsor of Ride for Kids, with the support of GEICO and Cycle World Magazine. To ride with us and help cure the kids, call 800-253-6530 or visit www.rideforkids.org.
