    AMA Pro Racing officials announced today the 2010 race schedule for the AMA Pro Superbike Championship that will see the series visit the foremost road courses in the United States. SPEED will once again serve as AMA Pro’s broadcast partner.

    The 2010 Superbike schedule will feature the two premier classes competing in nine confirmed events in key markets across the country. Negotiations are ongoing for a 10th race. Those details will be released in the near future.

    On Friday, 32 female breast cancer survivors from the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada and Australia, departed Marina De Rey on a 900-mile, 9-day motorcycle journey up the famed Pacific Coast Highway to prove that breast cancer can’t defeat the human spirit. Dubbed Amazon Heart Thunder, the fifth anniversary of the ride also challenges the participants to raise funds for breast cancer charities and as of today, they’ve raised $63,000.

    Crash puts Hopkins out for the season

    John Hopkins suffered a severe head trauma when he came down in a horrific way on the opening lap of the first superbike race at the Nurburgring. Initial scans in the local hospital showed no serious injuries, but further examination in the United States revealed that John had suffered a severe head trauma, as well as wrist, shoulder and hip injuries.

    John Hopkins has successfully undergone surgery in the United States, but will be forced out of action for at least eight weeks, which brings a premature end to the unfortunate American’s first season in the World Superbike Championship.
