2011 World Superbike
When World Superbike made its debut at Motorland Aragon in Spain last weekend, three significant events occurred – home favorite and series’ leader Carlos Checa had his first DNF, the reigning WSBK Champion took his first win, and Yamaha’s Marco Melandri took his first pole position.

Two riders were awarded wins Sunday at Motorland Aragon, round seven of 13 in the 2011 World Superbike Championship.
Yamaha World SBK’s Marco Melandri was victorious in the first race, taking the win over the Alitalia Aprilia duo of Max Biaggi and Leon Camier.
World Superbike Testing
The factory Aprilia Alitalia duo of Max Biaggi and Leon Camier undertook two days of testing at the fast and flowing Mugello circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday this week to ensure they will be fully prepared for the next few World Superbike race meetings, starting with Monza on May 8.
At Round 2 of the 2011 World Superbike Championship in Donington last month, Max Biaggi had a string of bad luck. The worse of it arrived from his disqualification of race 2 for jumping the start and failing to perform a drive-through penalty.
2011 World Superbike
Things didn’t go too well for the reigning World Superbike Champion at Donington Park in the UK Sunday.
Max Biaggi, who qualified in sixth, struggled in race 1, finishing seventh. Biaggi got a good start, but began running wide various times, and he couldn’t catch up with the leading group.
The 23 year-old Leon Camier will be flanking Max Biaggi on the Aprilia SBK team during the 2010 World Superbike season. The British SBK rider, born in Ashford on August 4th 1986, made his Aprilia RSV4 debut towards the end of the 2009 WSBK season. Leon successfully competed in the Magny Cours SBK race event as well as the last SBK race of the season at Portimao in Portugal.
Leon Camier’s solid results at Portimao (sixth and seventh) and the post-race tests on the Portuguese circuit confirmed the choice of the young British superbike rider for the 4-cylinder Italian Aprilia RSV4.
