In his second year in the MotoGP 125cc World Championship, Marc Márquez has once again let his enormous talent shine, which last year, helped him to become the youngest Spanish rider in history to stand on the World Championship podium. In 2009, Márquez has been in the spotlight race after race for putting in spectacular performances and also unfortunately, for some as equally spectacular falls on his KTM 125 wearing the colours of Repsol.
The FIM have today announced that the 2010 Grand Prix events in France, Italy and Czech Republic will be held a week later than originally scheduled, whilst Great Britain swaps places in the order with Italy. The San Marino event will be held a week earlier.

The second ever World Championship visit to Indianapolis Motor Speedway takes place this weekend following 2008’s historic inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, with last year’s race-winner Valentino Rossi looking for another victory to augment his standings lead at the twelfth round of the season. It is another special occasion for MotoGP as the event coincides with Indy’s 100th anniversary, the circuit having been constructed in 1909.

Ben Spies (Yamaha World Superbike) added another Superpole scalp to his crown as he took his ninth trophy of the year, one away from Doug Polen’s 1991 record for Ducati, at the difficult Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. The Texan’s time of 1 minute 58. 868 seconds was the quickest seen all weekend so far but was still half a second away from the circuit best lap held by Troy Bayliss. The Yamaha rider didn’t have it all his own way however as he was pushed hard by Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox) and Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing).
