MotoGP Round 1
MotoGP fans have sat silent for 133 days since Valencia wrapped up the 2010 Championship. But in 22 intense laps, that wait has already transformed into the first points being awarded after the season-opener at Losail International Circuit Sunday.
Bautista Broken Leg
It was assumed that Rizla Suzuki would not be able to replace the injured Alvaro Bautista for the opening round of the 2011 MotoGP Championship, and on Saturday the team confirmed this assumption. But Rizla will be present at round 2 in Jerez.
The 17-rider MotoGP grid will be lacking its only Suzuki rider this weekend at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar.
Rizla Suzuki GSV-R’s sole rider, Alvaro Bautista, broke his left femur after a high-side at Turn 15. This immediately ended the Spaniard’s participation in Sunday’s opening round of the 2011 MotoGP Championship.
Out of the 17 prototypes donning various colors on the MotoGP grid, the iconic blue on the Rizla Suzuki GSV-R is easiest to spot.
And for 2011, Rizla is hoping to make its 2011 machine/rider more contemporary, using revised Troy Lee Design-inspired livery that incorporates a "new, contemporary and dynamic Rizla logo."
