AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days welcomes precision riding team

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce that the Ride Like a Pro precision riding team will perform at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this July 24-26 as part of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.

"AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is known for one of the broadest schedules of motorcycling-related activities anywhere, from our massive swap meet to seminars to bike shows to vintage racing," said Tigra Tsujikawa, AMA special events manager.

Rossi wins Yahama Champions Superkarts exhibition

MotoGP World Championship leader Valentino Rossi made an early foray onto the Laguna Seca tarmac today, taking part in a Superkart exhibition alongside fellow Yamaha legends Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey. The foursome made four laps in Superkarts powered by a specially-prepared Yamaha TZ 250 engines, which lap the 3.601km California circuit just a couple of seconds slower than the MotoGP bikes.

The Italian and the three Americans hold an impressive 18 Grand Prix World Championship titles between them, including three each for Yamaha.

Art weets motorcycles for Charity in Los Angeles

A display of fine art, inspired by passion's urgency, themed through the medium of motorcycling, and realized on the objects of road racing culture (a motorcycle, helmets and apparel), opens to the public noon, Sunday, July 12, at the SURU Gallery in Los Angeles, California.

The show, entitled Celeritas (Latin for Speed, like in accelerate.), features helmets, apparel, and a 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa, each painted by one of 14 trend-setting fine artist, helmet artist Troy Lee, musician/artist Joe Hahn, and welder/biker-cum-risk-taker Jesse James.

Feld Motor Sports announced today that Cross Club members will once again have the exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets to the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, for two days prior to the July 29 public national on-sale. The exclusive Cross Club on-sale will take place July 27-28.

ATV Safety Institute announces youth online safety courses

The ATV Safety Institute has unveiled a suite of free interactive online safety courses on its website to enhance the total learning experience for all-terrain vehicle enthusiasts so that they can enjoy safe, fun-filled riding experiences.

The ASI ATV Safety Online courses are custom designed for each specific adult, teen (12-15 years old) and youth (6-11 years old) audience. The adult e-course also includes tips and advice for parents and guardians to coach and supervise youth throughout their ongoing learning process.

Palmgren to join AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce that National-winning dirt-track racer and successful tuner Chuck Palmgren is the next member of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2009. Palmgren -- who won multiple Mile events as a racer and earned a reputation as one of racing's leading tuners later in his career -- will be among the motorcycling heroes honored at the 2009 induction ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas this Dec.

Yamaha Champions Riding School off to fast start

The inaugural Yamaha Champions Riding School at Miller Motorsports Park concluded Thursday afternoon, June 4. The graduates of the school's first class were greatly improved and more confident riders than when they arrived Wednesday morning.

"These past two days have made such a difference in my riding," said first-time student Doug Thayer. "I have been to riding schools, had one-on-one days with instructors and read a lot of information about riding, but these guys made it easier to understand and put to use.
