Back in town, the Multistrada 950 reminds me that it’s also a brilliant commuter. Panniers removed, it is a fantastic lane-splitter, and the 31-inch seat height provides a commanding view of the road. Pop it into the Urban power mode and you get just the right throttle response on busy streets.
Further forays onto local mountain dirt roads reconfirmed the Multistrada 950 Enduro Pro’s capabilities. It blasts around on the smooth fire roads, and is willing to pick its way through the challenging rock gardens you’ll find in the desert.
My initial thought when I saw the specs for the 2017 Ducati Multistrada 950 was “Why?” However, after riding this modified version of the junior partner in the Multistrada firm, I found out exactly why.
