Ducati’s Chaz Davies

The largest threat to the Kawasaki Racing Team riders are Aruba.it Racing Ducati Team’s Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri. Davies currently trails Rea by 105 points, and Melandri by 163 points.

Davies arrives in Portugal following a double victory the last time out at EuroSpeedway Lausitz in Germany. Davies claimed a best of third in 2014 and 2015 while racing in the World Superbike class, and has a win from his World Supersport years (2011).

As for Melandri, he has two wins at Portimao: 2011 aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1, and 2013 aboard a BMW S 1000 RR. Melandri has been on a charge lately, claiming seven podiums and just re-signing with the factory Ducati team.
