Paul Yaffe’s Bagger Nation

Paul Yaffe took a novel approach to celebrating his 25th year in the custom bike building business: he rode the scenic route to South Dakota, joining other hamsters on the Hamsters Ride To Sturgis, a 6-day 2,800-mile journey from Bagger Nation headquarters in Phoenix, over to California and up the west coast, and across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming en route to the 76th Anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
“People followed our progress on social media,” says Paul Yaffe, “hit us up with route and scenic suggestions—it was a great way to start out for the 76th and a perfect way to test out some new builds. I’ve been making this ride every year for decades and it never gets old! It’s all about the journey in my opinion.”
Once in Sturgis, Paul set up at the Rockford Fosgate booth on Harley-Davidson Way and Lazelle for the duration of the rally. He engaged with fans, demoing parts and accessories, and participated in several charity rides and rally events. Paul was featured live on stage at the Grease and Gears Garage stage where he rehabbed a stock Road Glide donated by Black Hills Harley-Davidson into a Bagger Nation Road Glide complete with a custom Lepera seat!
As founder of the Baddest Bagger show series, Yaffe presided over it on August 9th at the Full Throttle Saloon. He was available to talk with builders, look at new customs and help judge the show. Kory Souza won Baddest Bagger Sturgis 2016 with a very custom 2013 Road King.
Also for the first time, Hot Leathers carried the full line of Bagger Nation apparel at several outlets in Sturgis during the rally. They featured never-before-seen BN designs and did brisk business all rally long.
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the definitive event on this year’s motorcycle calendar, with hundreds of thousands of people attending from all over the world, and Paul Yaffe’s Bagger Nation was proud to be part of the 76th anniversary of this iconic motorcycle event.
