2015 Pramac Ducati News
The Colombian MotoGP pilot Yonny Hernandez has extended his contract with the Ducati satellite team Pramac Racing.
The 26-year old, who just earned his best-ever MotoGP finish with a seventh at the Malaysian Grand Prix, has signed with Pramac Racing through 2015, with an option for 2016.
Hernandez joined the premier-class in 2012 with Avintia Blusens (CRT), and made his first appearance on the Pramac Ducati in 2013 while riding as a replacement for the injured Ben Spies at Aragon.
When Spies departed with MotoGP following 2013 due to injury, his empty seat was quickly filled by Hernandez. Throughout 2014 MotoGP, Hernandez piloted a Desmosdeici GP13 factory bike, but will use the updated GP14.2 in 2015. His first ride on the GP14.2 will be at the traditional post-season tests in Valencia following the season finale at the same circuit Nov. 7.
With one round remaining, Hernandez is currently 15th in the MotoGP point standings with 53 points.
The other Pramac Racing pilot, Andrea Iannone, joins the factory Ducati Team alongside Andrea Dovizioso in 2015. Iannone’s vacancy on the Pramac Racing Ducati has yet to be filled.
