2014 Brno Moto3 Results

Spoiler Alert: 2014 Moto3 results from the Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno listed below

Alexis Masbou (Ongetta-Rivacold) broke through for his first Moto3 victory at the bwin Czech Republic Grand Prix held Sunday at the Brno circuit. It was his third podium finish since joining Moto3 in 2012.

Masbou beat Enea Bastianini (Junior Team Go & Fun Moto3) to the line by a scant 0.157 of a second, and topped third place finisher Danny Kent (GBR Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo) by only 0.187 sec of a second.

This was the second podium finish in Moto3 for Bastianini and Kent’s fourth podium finish in Moto3.

Alex Marquez (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda), who had qualified on the pole, could only manage a fourth place finish — ironically the same position his brother Marc Marquez had to settle for in the Brno MotoGP race, after spooling off 10 consecutive victories in that series, equaling Giacomo Agostini’s records for 1968 and 1969.

Jack Miller (AUS) (Red Bull KTM) came in fifth, good enough to keep him ahead of Alex Marquez and at the top of the Moto3 series with 169 points to Marquez’s 146.

Brad Binder (Ambrogio Racing) rounded out the top six finishers and only 0.310 sec. off the first place finisher. Binder is tenth in the series points standings with 66 points.

The top 10 was completed by, Miguel Oliveira (Mahindra Racing), Efren Vazquez (SAXOPRINT RTG), Alex Rins (Estrella 0,0) and Isaac Viñales (Calvo Team).

The Moto3 series now breaks for two weeks before heading to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, round 12 of 2014 Moto3.
