For nearly 100 years, Indian Motorcycle has been committed to the Armed Forces. As far back as World War I when servicemen used the Model O in World War I, Indian has always provided service to the military in one way or another.

And on Thursday, Indian Motorcycle announced a new incentive program for North American Military Personnel – Honoring Heroes. This new program is “designed to recognize and reward all military personnel for their purchase of any of the all-new 2014 Indian Chief motorcycle models.”

Military personnel from the U.S. and Canadian Armed Forces will receive a $1,000 cash-back incentive on a new Indian Chief motorcycle – the 2014 Indian Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and Chieftan.

The program, which will run through 2014, is available to all active, reserve, National Guard, and retired military personnel.

Steve Menneto (Vice President of Motorcycles for Polaris) says: “Indian Motorcycle has a long and legendary history of supporting our Armed Forces, and supplied many thousands of bikes to the military in both WWI and WWII.

We are very proud of that heritage and today we continue that tradition with our Honoring Heroes program. You can expect strong and ongoing commitment from Indian Motorcycle to the brave men and women of our military in 2014 and beyond.”

To take advantage of the $1,000 incentive customers must simply visit any Indian Motorcycle dealership throughout North America and present valid military identification. For the location of the nearest Indian Motorcycle dealership please visit http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/dealer-locator.

Indian Motorcycle says today’s announcement follows on the heels of two other Indian Motorcycle initiatives created to reinforce the company’s steadfast support of military personnel and their families.

The “Stars and Stripes Saturday Sponsored by Indian Motorcycle” program provides U.S. military personnel free admission to any of the upcoming Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (IMS) courtesy of Indian Motorcycle.

The No. 7 custom bike will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson, one of the world’s leading auctioneers of classic vehicles, at its Scottsdale, AZ auction, which runs January 12-19, 2014, Indian Motorcycle says.
