2014 Indy MotoGP on TV
The final US round of the 2014 MotoGP Championship gets underway this week at a redesigned and newly-configured Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
And bringing the action live into homes across America is Fox Sports 1, which will provide coverage of MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 beginning at noon ET Sunday, Aug. 10 (Moto3 @ noon; Moto2 @ 1 p.m.; MotoGP @ 2 p.m.).
Fox Sports 1 also will provide coverage of Saturday qualifying at 3 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, so make sure those DVRs are set.
As the series heads into the Red Bull Indy GP, which begins the second-half of 2014 MotoGP, the 21-year-old Marc Marquez remains undefeated. The Repsol Honda RC213V pilot is the first rider to win the opening nine races since Giacomo Agostini in 1970 (Ago won the opening 10 races that year).
The man who leads the Fox Sports 1 broadcast team, host Bob Varsha, says “I think it’s reasonable to expect that Marquez will extend his amazing winning streak to ten at Indianapolis.
“Mathematically, the odds may be growing against him with each passing race, especially given his young age, but he has proven that he can win on any type of track, from anywhere in the field.
“The most recent race in Germany was an example: starting from the pit lane in mixed wet-dry conditions, Marquez ran through the field to win again. Finishing second in that race was his Repsol Honda teammate and fellow world champion, Dani Pedrosa, so if anyone were to beat Marquez on the day, I’m guessing it would be Pedrosa. They both ride the same awesome bike, the Honda RC213V.”
Joining Varsha on the broadcast team is Ral Sheheen, who provides play-by-play coverage, five-time Daytona 200 winner Scott Russell, who provides analysis, and Jenny Taft, who provides pits coverage.
During the broadcast, Fox Sports 1 also speaks with two-time World Superbike Champion Colin Edwards. The “Texas Tornado,” who joined MotoGP in 2003, retires from racing after 2014 MotoGP, and this will be his last round.
Also, the team will host a segment titled “Ask the Doctor” with nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).
All FOX Sports MotoGP content also streams live on FOX Sports GO, the app that provides live video of FOX Sports content at home or on the go.
