GEICO Motorcycle Honda rider Wil Hahn started his European racing tour on solid footing with a podium finish at the Supercross of Genova on Friday.
Hahn had a pair of third-place finishes in the night’s motos at Fiera di Genova for a third-place overall finish. Taking the win was Justin Barcia (2-1), with Trey Canard second (1-2).
Wil Hahn (GEICO Honda CRF450R) says: “I suffered from bad starts but that’s why I came over here,” Hahn said. “I wanted to learn and have fun. I was able to make good passes on both main events and get third place in both.”
Honda swept the podium at Genova with Justin Barcia winning and second place going to Trey Canard. Both riders started their careers with GEICO Honda.
Wil Hahn says: “The whole night was as amazing as I expected. I got to race against my friends, and the fans last night were just insane. The Italian fans were awesome. The hospitality everyone here in Italy has shown is unreal. I hope to come back next year and race here again.”
Hahn will take some time to explore western Europe as he makes his way to Paris next week for the Nov. 8-10 Supercross Paris-Bercy at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy.
Wil Hahn says: “This is the part of the trip I’m looking forward to the most. I’m really excited to be able to take some time and soak up a different culture before racing at Bercy. Italy was awesome, so I can’t wait to see what’s next in France.”
