BMW Motorrad USA September Sales Report
Following its recent trend of positive sales, BMW Motorrad USA has reported that September 2013 motorcycle and maxi scooter sales were up 20.9 percent over September 2012.
BMW Motorrad says 955 motorcycles and maxi scooters were sold in September 2013, compared to 790 in September 2012.
BMW attributes much of this success to the 2013 BMW F800GT and the F800GS Adventure. BMW Motorrad USA dealer networks delivered 262 F models in September, compared to 193 in the same month of 2012.
The next biggest seller was the R-Series; 76 of the R1200RT were sold in September 2013, compared to 60 in September 2012. Also, the new semi-water cooled R1200GS continued to top sales, with 318 sold in September 2013 compared to 256 GS boxers sold in September 2012, showing a 24-percent increase.
BMW’s leadership of the maxi scooter segment was further reinforced with 64 scooter retails in September.
BMW says that with year on year growth of 17.8 percent in a negative market, BMW Motorrad is ideally placed to take advantage of the influx of 2014 model year machines in the final quarter.
