2013 Indy MotoGP VideoWhen the Circuit of the Americas joined Laguna Seca and Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the 2013 MotoGP schedule, the United States became the second most visited country by the series.
With three races occurring on US soil, the only other country to host more MotoGP events is Spain with four (Jerez, Catalunya, Aragon, Valencia). And when the final of those US races wrapped up this weekend, one rider walked away with a clean sleep of the American races – Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez. The Spaniard dominated the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, leading all practice sessions, taking the pole and ultimately the victory. This was the rookie’s ninth podium in 10 rounds, including four wins. This dominance so far in 2013 gives the RC213V pilot the points lead with 188 points, 21 ahead of teammate Dani Pedrosa and 35 ahead of Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo. And to no surprise, these same riders joined Marquez on the Indy MotoGP podium; Pedrosa finished second, and Lorenzo third, though both Spaniards are recovering from broken shoulder bones sustained earlier in the season (Lorenzo at Assen and again at Sachsenring, and Pedrosa at Sachsenring).Attached below are video highlights of Indianapolis MotoGP, round 10 of 18.
