Moto Guzzi Motorcycle Recalls
Piaggio Group Americas, owner of the Moto Guzzi brand, is recalling 680 of its Stelvio NTX 1200, Norge 1200 and Griso 1200 motorcycles due to suspension issues.
Piaggio says the following motorcycles may be affected:2012-2013 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX 1200 models manufactured February 6, 2012 through April 10, 2013; 2012-2013 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 models manufactured January 25, 2012, through March 21, 2013; and 2012-2013 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 models manufactured January 26, 2012, through April 29, 2013.
Piaggio says due to a manufacturing fault, the rear suspension connecting links could fracture. If this occurs while riding, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Piaggio will notify owners, and Moto Guzzi dealers will replace the rear suspension connecting links on the affected vehicles, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2013. Owners may contact Piaggio at 1-877-696-6864.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to safercar.gov.
