2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Recall

Kawasaki has recalled 1,083 of its 2013 Ninja 300 (EX300BDFAL) motorcycles due to possible ABS failure.

Kawasaki says due to a manufacturing error found on the Ninja motorcycles manufactured August 16, 2012, through April 2, 2013, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) may malfunction and lose anti-lock functionality. The anti-lock function may not perform properly, allowing for wheel lock up and skidding, increasing the risk of a crash, Kawasaki says.

Kawasaki will notify owners and dealers will replace the affected ABS pumps with a new assembly. The recall is expected to begin on August 5, 2013. Owners may contact Kawasaki at 1-866-802-9381.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.gov.
