Speaking of the July 2013 Digital Buyer’s Guide, Ultimate MotorCycling magazine editor Don Williams says: “The 2014 year continues to unfold in front of our eyes. We are pleased to see two completely different motorcycles unexpectedly make themselves

known this month.

“First, we have the new Yamaha FZ-09, which is the first Yamaha triple in decades, and arrives to replace the vaunted FZ8. An all-new machine, the FZ-09 sports a Crossplane crankshaft in a much lighter package than the bike it replaces. Second, we have the odd Honda Grom. I wasn’t sure what to make of it until I sat on it. It is adult-sized and feel like it will be hugely fun to ride around town.

It weighs just a bit over 225 pounds, and the 125cc engine should provide enough torque to do battle with the most annoying of the four-wheel behemoths in urban and suburban areas. 2014 is looking better and better, and the second half of 2013 has just started!”
