2013 Circuit of the Americas MotoGP

The first of three stateside rounds got underway Friday with the the first two free practice sessions at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

By the day’s end, the top five riders weren’t much of surprise, considering they were the only five riders to participate in private testing at COTA in March.

Leading the way was Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez, who was over a half-second quicker than his teammate Dani Pedrosa. Next was LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl, who was followed by the Yamaha Factory Racing duo or  Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.

Attached above is a photo gallery of the riders during Friday practice. For a review of the Friday MotoGP practice in Austin, including full results, click here.
