2012 Triumph Tiger Explorer Studio Wallpaper
For 2012, Triumph released a brand-new adventure-touring motorcycle to compete directly with the likes of the BMW R 1200 GS – the Tiger Explorer.
The Explorer features a high-spec 1215cc three-cylinder, a new addition from the Hinckley (UK) company. This engine, which Triumph says will “set a new benchmark in the adventure touring class,” produces 135 horsepower and 89 ft. lbs. of torque, making it a class leader regarding power.
The triple also features a ride-by-wire throttle system, cruise control, switchable ABS, switchable traction control and requires 10,000-mile service intervals.
Triumph tweaked the chassis for low-speed balance and high-speed capability, and added a host of over comfort/safety features, such as ambient temperature with ice warning and a seat height that’s adjustable from 33.7- to 31.6-inches.
Triumph also offers many accessories for the Tiger Explorer including a two-box pannier system capable of swallowing 60 liters of luggage, and a top-box that offers 35 liters of space, enough for a full-face helmet.
