McGuinness: TT Lap Commentary (Video)
2012 Isle of Man TT Video
At the 2012 Isle of Man TT, John McGuinness came two-races closer to tying the record with Joey Dunlop for most TT wins.
The tally – McGuinness 19; Dunlop 26.
The man who holds the outright Isle of Man TT lap record of 131.578 mph around the 37.73-mile Mountain Course (2009) made it 19 after winning the Dainese Superbike and the Royal London 360 Superstock TTs.
And the “Morecambe Missile” was on track to dominate the Senior TT, but for the first time in the event’s 105-year history the Senior TT was canceled.
Following the 2012 Isle of Man TT, McGuinness sat down with Honda Racing Europe and displayed his expertise on the 37.73-mile Mountain Course by offering commentary on certain parts of the circuit.
In the video above, McGuinness talks through a lap, giving a unique account of his techniques and feelings on some of the most famous sections – from Bray Hill to Rhencullen, Kirk Michael and the Selby Straight, to the Mountain, the Verandah, Creg-ny-baa and the start/finish on Glenclutchery Road.
As Honda Racing Europe says, the video shows “A legendary lap by a legendary rider.”
