Isle of Man TT News
In the 2010 Isle of Man TT, Ian Hutchinson made history, winning all five solo TT races, immediately giving him icon status.
But in September of that year, Hutchinson crashed aboard the Swan Yamaha during the Silverstone round of British Supersport, breaking his leg.
Due to undergoing 16 operations and rehabilitation, Hutchy was forced to miss all but one race in 2011. The race he did compete in was the Macau Grand Prix, where finished third. After missing most of the 2011 racing action due to injury, he was finally on the road to return full time in 2012.
But Hutchinson suffered another setback – while rehearsing on an off-road motorcycle for the Carole Nash Motorcycle Show in London this week, he broke his left leg. Swan Yamaha boss Shaun Muir said the new fracture was away from the previous breaks.
Shaun Muir says: "He will have an external fixator fitted and hopes to be released from hospital as soon as possible."
This season he is due to ride in the British Superbike Championship alongside reigning champion Tommy Hill as well as return to the TT.
