Last week, Ultimate Motorcycling’s President Arthur Coldwells was at Infineon Raceway in California, geting some laps in on the 2012 Honda CBR1000 RR.

For 2012, Honda’s flagship sportbike received mostly suspension and fueling updates, which Coldwells reports were very effective changes.

Speaking of the 2012 Honda CBR1000RR, Coldwells reports there’s less dive from the Showa Big Piston Fork keeps the chassis stable and enables much more precision turn-in than the 2011 model.

Arthur Coldwells says: "The new Balanced rear shock is light years better than before and keeps the rear tire much more controlled; the new fuel mapping gives more linear power lower down and that’s especially noticeable transitioning back on to the gas, especially in first gear. The new instruments – with gear indicator – are awesome. Nice work Honda."
