2012 IOMTT: Millsport to Race Ducati 1199

2012 Isle of Man TT

The 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale has yet to be released, but one team has already confirmed it will use the new machinery in the 2012 Isle of Man TT.

This was after Millsport Racing confirmed its return to road racing in 2012; the team will compete aboard Ducati superbikes at the TT, North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix, as well as the Mondello Master Series and Sunflower circuit races, the team reported Wednesday.

Millsport Racing Ducati says it will field two 1199 machines in the Superbike and Superstock classes of the 2012 Isle of Man TT.

Patrick Murray (Team Manager) says: "This is a very exciting project for us, not only because we are returning to racing in 2012, but also because we are campaigning the new Ducati 1199 on the roads.

"Millsport Racing choosing Ducati reinforces our commitment to the Ducati brand and our dealership, Millsport Motorcycles in Ballymoney.

"We would also like to thank Ducati UK for their support in this venture and look forward to working with them throughout 2012 and beyond."

Murray adds Millsport is now actively talking to various riders and hopes to make an announcement on its lineup soon.
