Nurburgring Superbike: Qualifying Results


2011 World Superbike

Current World Superbike Championship leader Carlos Checa set the pace at Nurburgring Saturday, qualifying on the pole with a 1:54.144. This was the Althea Ducati riders fifth pole of the 2011 World Superbike Championship.

Joining the Spaniard Checa on the front row will be Yamaha World Superbike’s Eugene Laverty, the reigning WSBK Champion Max Biaggi (Alitalia Aprilia RSV4) and Laverty’s teammate Marco Melandri.

World Superbike reports that proven winner at this track Noriyuki Haga (Pata Racing Aprilia) was fifth while Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team Superbike) once more showed good pre-race pace to claim sixth place on the grid. Leon Haslam (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) squeezed out Sylvain Guintoli (Effenbert Liberty Racing Ducati) for seventh.
