2011 WSBK
For the second time since Monza, the reigning World Superbike Champion, Max Biaggi, will start from the pole position.
The Alitalia Aprilia RSV4 pilot posted a 1:58.580 Saturday at Brno, giving him the best start for Round 8 of the 2011 WSBK Championship. Biaggi held off fellow Italian, Yamaha Superbike’s Marco Melandri, by 0.221 of a second.
Joining Biaggi and Melandri on the front row are Althea Racing Ducati’s Carlos Checa and Yamaha Superbike’s Eugene Laverty, respectively.
Rounding out the top five was local-Czech rider Jakub Smrz on the Effenbert -Liberty Racing Ducati 1198R.
