The Derbi GPR, in both the 125cc 4-stroke and the new 50cc 2-stroke versions, mirrors the racing spirit of the legendary "Balas Rojas", the Derbi sportbikes that conquered a good 19 MotoGP World Championships over their motorcycle racing history (11 rider MotoGP titles and 8 manufacturer MotoGP titles).
The 50cc single cylinder manufactured by the parent, Piaggio Group, is a liquid-cooled 11.5:1 compression engine with carburetor and reed intake.
The motorcycle uses separate mixing system with a variable capacity volumetric pump. The 6-speed gearbox allows you to take the best advantage of the top engine performance levels.
This small but snappy engine, created for Derbi GPR, joins the powerful and well-known 125cc 4-stroke 4-valve single cylinder motor developed jointly by Piaggio and Derbi.
The Derbi GPR 125 has a liquid-cooled four-valve motor with a maximum power of 15 hp at 9,250 rpm that is paired with the 6-speed gearbox. Future MotoGP stars will be pleased with the performance.
The rolling chassis on both motorcycles is comprised of a dual-beam die-cast aluminum frame, an upside down 41mm fork with red anodized stanchion holders, an Olle single shock directly mounted to the swingarm, a radial-mounted 300 mm front disc break with four pistons with a 220 mm rear disc on the 125cc, and a 218 mm on the 50cc (both with a single piston caliper).
