MotoGP: Laguna Seca Must-Do Events

The 2010 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is just days away. In additional to spectacular MotoGP racing, there are at least 15 must-see, must-do events at this year’s race. These events, in addition to the hopeful return of Valentino Rossi, are stacking-up to be provide motorcycle fans with a weekend to remember.

1) Pedal Power
Join the fun by kick-starting the race weekend as the riders from the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will be taking to the track early on bicycles to kick-off the race weekend. The Twilight Ride will take place on Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

2) Day of Stars
Riders for Health is the official charity of MotoGP that provides motorcycles to save lives in Africa. A live auction of MotoGP memorabilia will be held on Thursday at the Turn 4 paddock suites from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Meet the MotoGP riders and support a great cause.

3) Team Yamaha Lap
Yamaha has special ticket offer for fans that own a Yamaha to take a lap of the racetrack led by Josh Hayes, Josh Herrin, Tommy Aquino and Ben Bostrom. The lap with Team Yamaha will take place on Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.

4) Pit Walk
For the lucky fans that have 3-Day Paddock passes and Friday General Admission passes for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, they will be treated to an exclusive Pit Lane Walk on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

5) LeoVince Movie Night
From 8:00p.m.-10:00p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, ticket holders to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will be able to watch some of the best motorcycle movies ever made on the big screen.

6) MotoGP Fan Party
Wander over to the Parts Unlimited Hospitality Chalet at Turn 5 for the MotoGP Fan Party from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The fun starts as soon as you walk through the door with door prizes and watch for appearances from some of your favorite riders.

7) Concert
In the Yamaha Marketplace stage area there will be continuous live performances from bands throughout the weekend. A special insider tip- Yamaha MotoGP riders Colin Edwards, Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies with Yamaha Legends Wayne Rainey and Eddie Lawson are scheduled to appear on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. on stage.

8) Stunt Show
Throughout the weekend, two of the top freestyle street extreme riders in the world will be performing in the Yamaha Marketplace, Kawasaki Factory sponsored Kane “Insane” Friesen and BMW Factory Sponsored rider Chris “Teach” McNeil.

Among many other accolades, Kane is the first factory-sponsored rider in North America and a Guinness World Record for the fastest stoppie. Teach was the second factory sponsored rider and holds numerous competition wins under his belt.

Both of these riders have a long history of performing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for an array of races and events, dating back to 2002 when Kane made his “big track debut” for WSBK and up until last year when they performed at this same event.

9) Motorcycle Demos
Zero Motorcycles will be offering demo rides for its all-new electric motorcycle: The Zero S Supermoto. The demo rides will be available throughout the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix. This will be one of the first events where the public can experience the entire Zero product line.

10) Autograph Sessions
Meet the AMA riders on Saturday from 1:10 p.m. – 1:50pm at their team transporters in the AMA paddock.

11) Photo Op
Visit the Yamaha display in the Marketplace to get a picture of yourself aboard the #46 Valentino Rossi MotoGP Championship winning Yamaha M1 or the #19 Ben Spies Championship winning Yamaha R1.

12) Boz Bros Custom Bike Show
Leading off the festivities is the crowd favorite Boz Bros Custom Bike Show. The show will include Pro built bikes by many of the country’s premier Sport Bike builders as well as the top 100 winners of the 2010 Yamaha Virtual SuperSport Bike Show contest.

13) Learn To Ride
Yamaha’s Learn To Ride program allows children under the age of 12 to try Yamaha TT-R 50E and TT-R 110E motorcycles in a controlled environment complete with instruction and supervision. The TT-R demos will take place Friday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Yamaha Marketplace.

14) Ducati Island
Ducati is as passionate about its fans as the Ducatisti are about their brand, and they prove it every year at Ducati Island, which features Ducati-only parking, Ducati fashion shows, Ducati performance apparel and more.

15) Track Invasion
Join the MotoGP podium festivities at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday! All spectators with a paddock pass are invited on to the track to congratulate the winners.
