The recent volcanic eruption in Iceland should have no adverse effects on the upcoming Assen World Superbike Round in the Netherlands, despite last weekend’s block on international air travel in and out of the continent.
Infront Motor Sports SBK Director, Paolo Ciabatti, confirmed the race.
Paolo Ciabatti says: "The bikes are all in Europe, following the last round at Valencia, and so are the riders. There should also be no problems either for the fans, who are mainly local, or from Germany and the UK and who can easily reach Assen by bike or car. Many teams are also planning to get there by car as well, so there should be no particular issues for Assen."
Racing at the fourth round of this year’s championship will go ahead as scheduled, with first practice and qualifying getting underway on Friday April 23rd.
