Sneak peak into 2010 WSBK

First 2010 WSBK Test Times

With Ben Spies off to MotoGP in 2010, the top spot on the World Superbike podium is left up for grabs. After the final 2009 World Superbike race in Portimao last weekend, many of the teams and riders stayed around to begin testing for the 2010 season.

In the two-day test, Jonathan Rea was in perfect form on his Honda CBR1000RR recording the fastest times both days. Rea, the 22-year-old Northern Irishman, was almost a second faster than his best qualifying time from the preceding race weekend and about 1/2 second better than the pole position time of 2009 champion Ben Spies.

Rea will be one of the riders to watch going into the 2010 World Superbike season. As well, Fabrizio was comfortably quick all weekend in second position and you can never count out Haga. It is going to be a long winter.
