Adrien Chareyre confirmed to race X Games 15

The 2008 S2 World Supermoto Champion Adrien Chareyre has confirmed he will be racing X Games 15 at the Home Depot Center this weekend. Piloting a CH Racing factory Husqvarna SM450 RR, look for the Anduze, France-based champ to be a major factor going for the X Games Gold!

"This is a great opportunity to showcase two champions: Husqvarna’s SM450 RR and our 2-time World Champion Adrien Chareyre," says Husqvarna Motorcycles North America National Sales & Marketing Manager Scot Harden. In fact, Harden made these comments while watching Chareyre’s lap times steadily drop at a top secret test facility this week, just hours before X Games. "As you can see from the other riders testing here today, Adrien is super fast and incredibly smooth," says Harden. "He is going to surprise some people!"

Adrien ChareyreSpeaking of surprises, Supercross hero James Stewart will also be in the mix at X Games, but Chareyre says he is not worried. "We have raced against each other before in the 85cc World MX Championships," adds Adrien. "I think it is great for the sport of Supermotard that Stewart will be at X Games… I’m really looking to racing him again!"

Nicknamed "Le Chat" the likable Chareyre, 23, has been racing motorcycles since he was 4 years old, competing in the European and French National Motocross Championships until he was 15. He then switched to the Supermoto discipline back in 2001, starting on a little 50cc minibike and working his way up through bigger bikes to ultimately capture the World Championship in 2007 and 2008 (both titles aboard a Husqvarna). He also won the Italian S2 Supermoto title in 2008 for good measure.

Chareyre comes into the X Games having just won both legs of the World Supermoto Championships at the historic Mallory Park in the U.K. on his works Husqvarna and is currently leading the series with a perfect 100 point total.
