Larry Pegram heads to Barber armed with Ducati 1098R

After a productive month of preparations, Team Foremost Pegram Racing is packing up and heading to Barber Motorsports Park for the fourth round of the AMA Pro Racing American Superbike Championship. Following a disappointing weekend at Road Atlanta earlier this month, rider Larry Pegram has worked on regaining his strength after injuries hampered his performance in Georgia.  The team tested several days at Infineon Raceway in California and is pleased with the progress made on their Ducati 1098 R at the official test.

Larry Pegram Speaks…

"We tested well at Infineon Raceway, which will no doubt benefit us when we race there next month, and we learned a lot that we can apply to this weekend’s race as well. My body is almost 100% again, so I can ride aggressively, as opposed to nursing myself through the races like I had to in Atlanta."

This weekend’s round at the Barber Motorsports Park is one of the most eagerly anticipated on the calendar. Opened in the spring of 2003, the 2.38 mile racing circuit is 45 feet wide, with 17 turns and elevation changes of more than 80 feet. The Alabama track has been considered one of North America’s finest road courses for motorcycle racing, and served as the venue for the launch of the Ducati 1098 R road bike- the street version of the Team Pegram Foremost Racing machines. Barber Motorsports Park also features the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, a 144,000 square-foot facility that houses more than 1,000 vintage and modern motorcycles from 17 different nations and more than 125 manufacturers, with Ducati being a particular marque of interest.
