Motorcycle sales data released by the Motor Cycle Industry Association in the United Kingdom show that sales of motorcycles and mopeds in the first month of the 2011 year have shown notable improvements compared to this time last year.

Following the success of the new-look Carole Nash Motorcycle Live last year, the dates have been set for the 2011 Show. From Saturday, Nov. 19, to Sunday, Nov. 27, The NEC Birmingham will once again host the UK’s premier two-wheel exhibition.

2010 Motorcycle Sales
Although 2010 sales fell 15.9 percent across the UK motorcycle market, BMW Motorrad continued to sell, the only manufacturer to show double-digit growth. Sales of the famed German BMW motorcycles were up 12.2 percent for 2010.

Motorcycle registration statistics released by the Motor Cycle Industry Association in the United Kingdom (MCI) for the end of 2010 show that despite battling against the economic recession and bad weather the figures aren’t all bad news.

The Crescent British Superbike team is delighted to have secured the services of former MotoGP and American Superbike rider, the American star John Hopkins for the 2011 British Superbike Championship.
Hopkins will begin testing the Crescent GSX-R1000 Superbike at Cartagena, Spain, in early March.
A recent survey carried out by the University of Strathclyde in cooperation with motorcycle accessories manufacturer Scottoiler analyzed the stereotype of motorcyclists amongst white-collar workers. In total over a hundred bikers from the US, UK and Germany took part in the survey.
BMW Motorrad can look back on an extraordinarily successful motorcycle season in 2010. By December 2010, 98,047 motorcycles worldwide were delivered to customers (previous year: 87,306 units), a growth of 12.3%. In a highly challenging market environment, BMW Motorrad has recorded the strongest growth by far in the competition.
