Royal Enfield was incorporated as Enfield India Limited on the 21st of November in 1955 with the first bikes being assembled from CKD kits. It was the first 4-stroke motorcycle manufacturer in the India.

Royal Enfield USA announces that the Lean-Burn AVL engine will now come standard on all of its classically styled models. The Bullet Classic with the Lean-Burn engine arrived stateside just this January and as of July all of the models can be purchased with the new, highly reliable engine style.
Along with this announcement comes the news that Royal Enfield USA has been sent the final shipment of Bullets featuring the 70-year-old cast-iron engine, which has the distinction of being in production longer than any other motorcycle engine in history.
New Bullet Classic C5 and Bullet G5
Classic Motorworks, the exclusive U.S. distributor of Royal Enfield motorcycles, announces two new models available in the states. The Bullet Classic C5 and the Bullet G5 both have been designed to operate like a modern day motorcycle with all of the technological amenities bike enthusiasts expect, but without compromising the iconic design of the original Royal Enfield Bullet.

There is definitely something wrong with this picture. I’m bombing along a back road in Santa Paula, Calif. (aka the Citrus Capital of the World) aboard a mercilessly underpowered, somewhat skittish motorcycle that, despite being the latest offering from the company, hasn’t witnessed any major design changes since Eisenhower was president. Yet, I’m having an absolute ball.
