Just yesterday my mind was wandering back to 2004 to my Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6RR racebike’s slipper clutch – a first at the time and considered to be high-technology. Today, I am focused on Kawasaki’s completely redesigned 2011 Ninja ZX-10R.
Yamaha Motor Corporation and the Northeast Sport Bike Association has announced the start of the 2011 YAMAHA/NESBA sport bike demo program.
Now in its fifth year, this program allows any licensed motorcycle rider to demo one of Yamaha’s class-leading sport bikes, including the 2011 R1, R6, FZ1, all new FZ8 and FZ6R at a NESBA track day.
Danny Eslick had his first ride on the Geico Powersports RMR Suzuki this past weekend at Road Atlanta. Very cold temperatures prevented any real fast laps; however the team was able to get all of its 2010 promotional photos taken care of.

The biggest motorcycle road racing event to date at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) will take place this Labor Day Weekend, September 4 – 6, when the 2009 season finales for AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL and AMA Pro SuperSport presented by Shoei are run on NJMP’s Thunderbolt Raceway.
Tornado Nationals First Major Motorcycle Race In Topeka in Nearly 20 Years
At least one 2009 championship will be decided and several other season titles could be on the line at this weekend’s Tornado Nationals presented by Briggs Auto, which marks the return of top-level AMA Pro Road Racing to Heartland Park Topeka for the first time since 1991. The full weekend of action is also the final event on the 2009 calendar to feature every AMA Pro Road Racing championship and an impressive entry of nearly 130 motorcycles is headed to the 2.5-mile Kansas road course.
Highlighted by back-to-back races for AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited and AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL that will cap three full days of action at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, AMA Pro Road Racing will share the world-stage spotlight this weekend with MotoGP at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, July 3 – 5.
In a race where the lead changed hands at least five times on the final lap, Cardenas came away with his sixth AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL victory of the season on the No. 36 Team M4 Suzuki GSX-R600.
In the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL Superpole session, DiSalvo claimed his fourth straight pole on the No. 40 Team M4 Suzuki GSX-R600 at 2:20.153 (103.978 mph). While DiSalvo is riding a four-event streak of pole positions, he heads into tomorrow’s race still looking for his first Daytona SportBike victory.

The biggest weekend of competition since the season-opening Daytona 200 Week by Honda is set for the monstrous Road America road course this weekend where the AMA Pro Suzuki Superbike Doubleheader will be Round 6 of the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing series.
Every division within AMA Pro Road Racing will be in action Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Road America, but the undisputed headline events will be dual feature races for AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited and AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL.
In perhaps one of the most anticipated Superpole sessions of the season, Mat Mladin (No. 7 Rockstar/Makita Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-1000R) and Jason DiSalvo (No. 40 Team M4 Suzuki GSX-R600) captured pole positions in their respective classes in advance of the Kawasaki Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.
