The GlobeBusters Trans Americas 2009 expedition started on July 16, 2009 from Anchorage Alaska. A record breaking 30 bikes will be taking part in the various stages of this year’s five month adventure.
The first week on the trip is one of the hardest, with long days and the infamous Haul Road (Dalton Highway) ahead to Prudhoe Bay. It’s not a road to be taken lightly, every year, many riders struggle to make it to the furthest point north without a slip.
On minute Zero, John Ryan was in Prudhoe Bay, on the North Shore of Alaska. 5,191 minutes later, Ryan was in Key West, Florida, having traversed the entire North American Continent, the long way, on his 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300, outfitted with Metzler Z6 Interact sport-touring tires.
