Foremost Insurance Pegram Ducati’s Larry Pegram had another strong run in the Sunday AMA Pro American Superbike race at Virginia International Raceway. Pegram and Ducati, winners of three 2009 AMA Pro American Superbike races, earned yet another top-five result. Larry charged towards the front, passing Mat Mladin and Blake Young in the middle portions of the 23-lap race. Larry challenged for a podium finish and eventually crossed the finish line on his Ducati 1098R in fourth.

AMA Superbike: Race 1
Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Mat Mladin carded yet another AMA Superbike podium finish, this time at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, Virginia, on Saturday afternoon. Six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mladin brought home second place in the first of two 23-lap races in the AMA Superbike double-header weekend. Mladin has been leading the championship points in the series all season and had hoped to clinch his seventh title on Saturday.

After so many great years of racing in the USA, I will retire from AMA racing at the end of the 2009 racing season in New Jersey.
My career has been long and above and beyond my wildest expectations. I won my first national championship on dirt bikes back in 1981 (28 years ago) and have had an amazing career ever since.
If I had my time again, I would not change a single decision I have made, in life or in racing.
I would like to thank my team for their constant hard work. Without these guys, the 80+ race wins and multiple championships would not have been possible.
Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) wrapped up a weekend of exciting racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates capturing his third consecutive podium of the season. The Lexington, Ohio track hosted Round 8 of the AMA Pro Racing National Guard American Superbike Championship, giving fans something to cheer for as they witnessed two of the best Superbike races of the 2009 season.
