In the midst of a hectic, back-to-back MotoGP race schedule, Yamaha Factory Racing’s Ben Spies captured his maiden victory aboard the M1 at the famed "Cathedral" in the Netherlands last Saturday.
It was a double celebration, considering it was Spies’ first MotoGP win and the first of this year’s 50th Anniversary of Yamaha racing in Grand Prix.

Round 7 of the 2011 Moto2 Championship got underway in wet conditions, but turned dry as the riders lapped the TT Assen circuit in the Netherlands.
Since every team had rain tires on its Moto2 machine(s), by the end of the Assen race the tires were worn, causing multiple crashes.
Viessmann Kiefer Racing rider Stefan Bradl set an early fast time under darkening skies at Assen in the Netherlands to put himself on pole position for the Moto2 race.
He is joined by Marc Marquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) and Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project) on the front row.
FIM Motocross MX1/MX2
The FIM World Motocross Championship heads to Glen Helen Raceway in California this weekend, the only US round on the 2011 calendar.
This will be the second year that the USGP will occur at Glen Helen, and the action is again expected to be fierce.

Valentino Rossi wrote another chapter in his extraordinary career at the Assen circuit in the Netherlands on Saturday, June 27, becoming only the second rider in history to reach 100 Grand Prix wins. The Fiat Yamaha rider also took the pole position, set the fastest race lap and took over the points lead in the 2009 MotoGP championship. Moreover, teammate Jorge Lorenzo finished a strong second and celebrated a personal milestone with the 50th podium of his young career.
