The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce another member of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2009: David Hough, acclaimed author of several well-known books on riding techniques. Hough will be among the motorcycling heroes honored at the 2009 induction ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas this Dec. 5.
"For many new motorcyclists, before they take a training course or even buy a motorcycle, they are introduced to proper riding through the books and columns of David Hough," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman.
Julie Chichlowski has been appointed the new Chair of the Board for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). She succeeds former MSF Chair of the Board David Edwards, who retired in April of 2009 from American Honda Motor Co., Inc. after 38 years of service.
Edwards joined the MSF Board in 2003, was elected Vice Chair in 2004, and became Chair in 2006.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s mission is to make the nation’s streets and highways safer for motorcyclists through rider training programs, operator licensing programs, and public information campaigns. While these priorities continue year-round, May is designated Motorcycle Awareness Month, which provides the MSF an additional opportunity to enhance drivers’ awareness of motorcyclists who share the road with them just as the spring riding season kicks off.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) is pleased to announce its participation in the third annual National Capital Region Joint Services motorcycle safety event on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Last year’s event drew hundreds of bikers, enthusiasts, and an assortment of guest speakers including congressional staff, military commanders, and Hollywood actress and rider Catherine Bell.
