The toughest test of endurance on the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing schedule will share the spotlight with a fast and flat-out sprint race to headline a full schedule of motorcycle road racing at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) at this weekend’s Fall Cycle Scene, Oct. 16 – 18. Saturday’s fourth annual 8 Hours At Daytona will close the 2009 AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT season while Sunday will be highlighted by the AMA Pro SuperSport presented by Shoei National Championship Shootout sprint race at high noon.
The 8 Hour race starts at 1 p.m.

The biggest motorcycle road racing event to date at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) will take place this Labor Day Weekend, September 4 – 6, when the 2009 season finales for AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL and AMA Pro SuperSport presented by Shoei are run on NJMP’s Thunderbolt Raceway.
Josh Day scored ESP/ Venemotos Yamaha’s third successive AMA Pro Racing victory at the Big Kahuna Nationals in Virginia. The ESP/ Venemotos Yamaha team arrived at VIR still riding a wave of momentum from their first two victories at the previous AMA rounds in Mid-Ohio and Topeka. The new front end setting that the ESP crew found at Mid-Ohio continued to work for Day at VIR. The feeling from the front end allowed Josh to quickly lower his lap times, he was the first competitor into the 1:29′s, while running a comfortable pace.

Tornado Nationals First Major Motorcycle Race In Topeka in Nearly 20 Years
At least one 2009 championship will be decided and several other season titles could be on the line at this weekend’s Tornado Nationals presented by Briggs Auto, which marks the return of top-level AMA Pro Road Racing to Heartland Park Topeka for the first time since 1991. The full weekend of action is also the final event on the 2009 calendar to feature every AMA Pro Road Racing championship and an impressive entry of nearly 130 motorcycles is headed to the 2.5-mile Kansas road course.
