I remember watching Mick Doohan winning 500GP races whilst Valentino Rossi, Max Biaggi and Loris Capirossi battled it out on the Aprilia RS 125s and 250s in the late nineties. This was the heyday for the 2-strokes.
In 1997, Mick Doohan put on one of the most impressive performances in MotoGP history; the Australian took 13 of 15 rounds, adding to his already iconic motorcycle racing status.
Grand Prix legend Mick Doohan will ride the iconic Mountain course during the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.
The five-times 500cc World Champion will complete a lap of the course alongside Ian Hutchinson – who won all five solo TT races in 2010 – on June 8. Doohan will ride a Honda Fireblade during the Arai parade lap.
After competing on the factory Ducati for four years, which included winning the 2007 MotoGP Championship, Casey Stoner joined the Repsol Honda team for 2011.
For 2011 the Repsol Honda Team welcomes Casey Stoner to the MotoGP racing team. During the first unveiling and test, the orange and balck Repsol Honda Team lined-up alongside the new but familiar looking ’11 RC212V racing motorcycle.
Before the Repsol Honda team began the necessary preparation for the first official MotoGP test session at Sepang on Tuesday, they introduced the 2011 livery of the RC212V motorcycles and all three riders.
