The closest finish of the 2011 MotoGP Championship occurred at the season finale in Valencia after Repsol Honda’s Casey Stoner beat Yamaha Factory Racing’s Ben Spies to the line by a mere 0.015 of a second.
Fourth place at the Suzuka 8-Hour race catapulted Team BMW Motorrad France 99 to the top of the FIM Endurance World Championship standings.
Casey Stoner’s debut on the Repsol Honda RC212V went better than expected.
The Australian began the 2011 MotoGP Championship with the pole position and win at Qatar, and followed that up with three additional podiums and four more wins (Le Mans, Catalunya, Silverstone, Laguna Seca).
Dani Pedrosa had some positive results in the first three races in the 2011 MotoGP Championship, the Spaniard finishing third at Qatar, second at Jerez and then winning at Estoril.
