March Coma took his fifth victory of the 2011 Dakar Rally aboard the KTM Rally 450 on Friday. He finished 37 seconds ahead of fellow KTM rider, Cyril Despres. Third was Helder Rodrigues on a Yamaha.

Stages 12 and 13 and almost 700km of special are all that remain in the 2011 Dakar – the 33rd edition of the world’s toughest race – and Yamaha are on the edge of another top-of-the-leader-board finish thanks to the skills and exertions of Helder Rodrigues and his Yamaha Racing France Ipone team.
After having been announced winner of the sixth stage of the 2011 Dakar Rally, Ruben Faria on his Red Bull KTM motorcycle was finally reclassified 3rd following an race organizer timing error.
This meant that the Dakar motorcycle racing victory was passed to Helder Rodrigues with Cyril Despres second.
