It’s official – the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix will go on as planned Oct. 2, says Dorna Sports, the governing body of MotoGP.
The news arrived after the FIM and Dorna received the final, official report from ARPA, who was hired to investigate the radiation levels at Motegi to ensure fan/MotoGP paddock safety.

After much controversy regarding the current state of Japan following the March 11 Earthquake and subsequent Tsunami that devastated the country, the FIM confirmed Monday that the Motegi MotoGP will go on as planned Oct. 2.
One of the four Spanish circuits on the 2011 MotoGP calendar will be around for the next five years. On Wednesday, the Circuit de Catalunya renewed its contract with Dorna Sports, the promoter of MotoGP, for years 2012-2015.
In 2010, rental company Hertz signed a year-deal with MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports to provide a range of services.
On Thursday, MotoGP announced that the two had signed a year extension; Hertz will provide a range of services throughout the 2011 MotoGP Championship.
Hiroshi Yasukawa has been appointed by Dorna Sports as an advisor to company CEO, Carmelo Ezpeleta.
Yasukawa will bring a wealth of motorsport experience to the MotoGP rights holder and will provide his insight on the further development of the sport.
