All New Motocrosser
Yamaha has released the following information on its new 2010 250F motocrosser.
>> The all-new, Bilateral Beam frame is specific to the 250 and is more compact than the previous generation chassis. This places the rider closer to the front wheel, which delivers superb rigidity balance for unmatched lightweight handling and cornering. This nimbleness lets the rider get on the gas sooner out of corners and cross the finish line with less fatigue – even on long motos.
Three Motorcycles in One.
Leave it to the Italians to present a new motorcycle with an ambiguous name that invites all sorts of interpretation. Is the Aprilia SL 750 Shiver likely to leave me cold, send a tingly sensation up my spine, or deliver a sharp forearm blow to my head? As it turns out, the Shiver is capable of delivering an expansive variety of responses, as it is one of the most versatile sport bikes available.
Off-Road Racer, Supercrosser.
One might not expect a supercross-based bike to make a great woods machine, but KTM has pulled that trick off with the 250 XC-F. Utilizing KTM’s outstanding SX-F chassis and DOHC, 4-valve, e-start motor, the XC-F works as both a single-track race bike, as well as a high-end trail bike.
I had resisted the urge to ride a motorcycle to work for quite some time. There were plenty of good reasons to stay in my quite-fun Acura CL Type S, ranging from the amount of stuff I carry to/from work each day, to reduced lunchtime errand options, to helmet hair I would have to live with all day, and the to-be-expected safety concerns. But, I finally succumbed last summer when the price of gas when flying past the $5/gallon mark. Months later, with gas just over $2/gallon, I am still riding…and not looking for excuses to get back in the car.
