Casey Stoner took his third win of the 2011 MotoGP Championship Sunday at Round 5 in Catalunya, Spain. With his wins in the season opener in Qatar and Round 4 in France, Stoner now has 91 points, seven shy of the series’ leader, Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing).
2011 AMA Superbike Results
From the start of Sunday’s Superbike Race Number 2 at Infineon Raceway, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden looked strong, clinging effortlessly to the rear fender of Josh Hayes’ Monster Energy Graves Yamaha R1.
With 13 turns, a tricky uphill chicane and a long straight (0.613 of mile) where the prototypes reach 200 mph and then have to brake for a 70 mph-turn 1, the technical Estoril layout continually challenges the MotoGP grid.
And the 2011 Portuguese Grand Prix was no different.
2011 World Superbike
The sole Suzuki rider in the 2011 World Superbike Championship, Michel Fabrizio, hasn’t had too much luck so far this season.
The Team Suzuki Alstare GSX-R1000 rider finished 6/8 in Phillip Island, DNF/7 in Donington and 5/7 in Assen World Superbike this past weekend.
