AMA Pro Racing Awards
American Suzuki Motor Corporation is to present its five Suzuki champions of the 2010 AMA race season with custom commemorative awards honoring their achievements.
Team M4 Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas finished off the Heartland Park Topeka double-header weekend strong by winning the second of two AMA Daytona SportBike races on Sunday in Topeka, Kansas. The Colombian rider got a good start on his M4 Suzuki GSX-R600 and rode an almost flawless 20-lap race, in spite of having to go through a restart after a red flag sidelined the race early on. In the restart, Cardenas was running in third place for multiple laps before moving into second place. He paced the leader for a while and then put on a charge toward the end.
Jamie Hacking returned to the podium at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with a hard-fought race that saw him move back and forth amongst the podium positions, eventually finishing as the runner-up. Hayden brushed off the bad luck he’s recently had, putting in a great race to finish fifth. Hacking was hoping to put Saturday’s result behind him and he did just that with his sixth podium finish of the season. He shared the lead position for the last half of the race, but had to settle for second at the finish line.
