The morning practice and qualifying sessions are complete for the Monster Energy Motocross National from Budds Creek MX Park. With just one session scheduled for each class due to weather, Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Chad Reed and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Christophe Pourcel sat atop the charts in the 450 and 250 classes, respectively.

After making his return to motocross one week ago by racing in the 250 Class for the first time in a dozen years, GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham will move into the familiar 450 Class for this weekend’s race.

The third and final round of the Monster Energy Triple Crown of Motocross will take place this weekend, providing an opportunity for Reed and Pourcel to take home $3,000 apiece.
Chad Reed celebrated his third consecutive 2009 AMA Motocross victory this past weekend at Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, New York. The Australian rode flawlessly and swept both 30-minute motos to take the overall victory. This result is also Reed’s fourth win of the season. He currently leads the overall championship points standings with just three rounds to go. Reed was joined on the podium by Rockstar Makita Suzuki teammate Michael Byrne. Byrne has spent much of this year bouncing back form injury earlier in the year.
